Finally, I am comforted and enthused that what I have been practicing for several years now is also the proper direction for a balanced existence with the life that surrounds me that I have been protecting in the way that makes sence to me. Forests and diversity have enormous varieties that some folks look at negatively.
Great information, thank you, I could look into making my Arizona room a garden area, it is huge and I could use grow lights at one end that doesn't get sun, worm castings, shade cloth when the sun gets too intense in the summer at the East end. I have done small tomatoes in pots, herbs, small stuff.
Indeed. I am just a couple of years into this. I've started with pears, apples, mulberrys, bush cherries, blackberries currants and hazelnuts. Garlic, horseradish, peas, carrots, beans, beets, greens etc.
Thank you for this Jovan. I have been working toward food planting on most of my city yard. Unfortunately its a lit of hard work for a senior single who still also works. AND I have to fix a drainage issue first.
I have had more visitation from butterflies and that giant moth this year end have never had that before. Will be planting an area for them too next year.
I am sad when I see good leaves and brush just trashed instead of being composted. But I dint have room to take it myself. Ill get there.
Good morning Jovan and Friends! Permaculture and food forests are my thing. I get lots of information from Permaculture is my Passion podcast. They are a fun husband and wife team who started converting their property 4-5 years ago to permaculture. It’s a good starting point for noobs and experienced alike. Love you, Jovan!
Jovan, this is exactly what I am doing on my property in Spotsy. I’m in the process of taking out all ornamental, non-flowering shrubs and replacing them with beery bushes. Grassy areas are being replaced with edible ground cover, like strawberries, red clover, oregano, marjoram, mint, and a whole host of medicinal herbs and weeds. Next will be fruit trees and chickens. After chickens and guinea hens I will add my milk goats, sheep and cows. I’m struggling with wether or not to get pigs and rabbits. You inspired me and I am now a practicing Torah Observant Christian. Don’t eat unclean animals. Now, I don’t plan to eat any of my animals. I was born Japanese Buddhist and I cannot kill an animal. It is not in my DNA. I would love to hear your opinion on keeping Leviticus 11 and if it applies if I will not kill or consume the animal. By the way, I watched the Biggest Little Farm. That is how hubby plan to live. ❤️🙏 Keep bringing us these beautiful nuggets. I learn so much from you! I am putting my microbiology to use and creating an informational piece on soil health and its microbiome. I’ll share it with you when I am done. Stay strong. One day your entire online family will gather with you for a beautiful time outdoors spent cooking, talking, and sharing live music. Love you dearly, my friend. ❤️

Incredible we as society have missed the common sense for so long.

I started a garden and raising chickens, ducks and geese this spring. It’s hard work but worth it. Making this my way of retirement life. Onwards!
